Tulsa’s First Intergalactic Trading Post

join the tankano trading clan at Tulsa Pop Kids

Hours – 9am – Noon – 1st Wednesday & 3rd Saturday Every Month

Explore literacy, collect what interests you, and earn points for your discoveries. Learn, read and get some out-of-this-world rewards when you join and trade.
In Star Wars, Jawas love to trade; they love to scavenge.  At Tulsa Pop Kids we love literacy and education, and this is one of the ways we can connect our love of pop culture with our passion for reading.
There are two ways to participate:
1) Earn points by reading. Bring us your reading log or a video report of a book you’ve read and get rewarded with points that you can exchange for some amazing prizes,
2) Scavenge… just like the Jawas.  Gather some fun Pop Culture things and come to the trading post to make a trade.

Anyone 14 years old and under that comes in can get ONE free comic book, just for coming in!

Trading Rules

  • Bring maximum of five (5) items to trade per day.
  • Make sure that your trade items are clean and safe for handling.
  • Don’t collect or scavenge without permission from your parents.
This program is built for kids 14 and under.
Everyone may participate, but the points earned double for those under 14.

how can I earn points?

TRADE IN ITEMS THAT YOU FIND OR SCAVENGE.

  • The more you can tell us about the items, the more points you will earn.
    • What kinds of things can I trade?
      • Tankano Trading Post accepts comics, graphic novels, (Kid friendly comics are worth more), action figures, etc.
      • Legos in bag or unopened container

READ AND DO A VIDEO BOOK REPORT

  • Read a comic, read a novel, do a short 20-30 second video telling us about the story. Extra points are awarded for showing us your passion in regards to that story.

TAKE HOME A READING LOG (kids 14 and under)

  • Earn one (1) point for every minute you read.  Download the reading log or pick one up at our location, fill it out, and have mom or dad sign it.  You can earn some great prizes.

CREATE A PROJECT ON A BOOK YOU READ.

  • We love comics, but this particular project will require something a little more robust.   Read any book over 100 pages and make a poster, booklet, diorama…the opportunities are limitless.
